Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….
Chromium (Cr). Diagram of the nuclear composition, electron configuration, chemical data, and valence orbitals of an atom of chromium-52 (atomic number: 24), this element's most common isotope. The nucleus consists of 24 protons (red) and 28 neutrons (orange). 24 electrons (white) successively occupy available electron shells (rings). Chromium is a transition metal in group 6, period 4, and the d-block of the periodic table. It has a melting point of 1907 degrees Celsius. The trends across the transition metals are due to electrons filling an inner d-subshell (here, within the 3rd ring), shielding the outer (valence) electrons from the increasing nuclear charge.
